“ My friend lives in the building right above and it's always packed when i visit. When i tell you the sushi was BOMB AF! The flavors were vibrant and savory. It was so fresh. When i came to pick it up everyone greeted me and were super friendly. Definitely will be back, the google reviews don't lie! 10 out of 10!!!! ”
“ Did a quick lunch takeout of vegetarian options and enjoyed my rolls. Quick preparation, decent quality, and competitive pricing. ”
“ Kai Sushi is a great neighborhood spot with a BYOB option. The sushi is great and fresh, the place itself is no frills. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is very attentive and sure to stay on top of any requests. Sushi options are great, there's something on the menu for everyone. ”
“ We love Kai Sushi! It is one of our favorite restaurants in the South Loop. The food is ALWAYS fresh, delicious, perfectly portioned and packaged... but most of all the staff at this restaurant are kind, welcoming, and helpful. We get everything from the specialty rolls (highly recommend the Dynamite and White Tiger Rolls) to the sides (the Seaweed Salad is one of the best in the city). Love Kai Sushi South Loop! ”
“ I travel for a living and have had some mind-blowing sushi, including in Japan. I'll admit that when I arrived at Kai I was a little concerned. It's nothing to write home about in its appearance. A server was sweeping up broken glass in the little dining room. I ordered the seared scallops roll and the special tuna roll to go. While I waited about 10 minutes there was no one eating inside and one couple partaking of their dinner outside. I carried my food back to my hotel 20 minutes away. It was sadly packed in plastic rather than a compostable container, but at least it wasn't styrofoam. The special ginger sauce was in a separate small container. Shockingly good sushi. What they lack in ambience they make up for in extremely fresh, highly delicious ingredients. My rolls were innovative and perfectly flavored. The total bill, including a 15% tip, was $34 for 2 exquisite specialty rolls. I'm looking forward to my next downtown ORD layover and will tell my fellow crew members about this place! ”
“ I order in from Kai pretty often. I really love the lunch combo. Two rolls and miso soup of $14! Not bad!! When you order for lunch it's always real pretty quickly. The rolls are big and made so well. I've dined in a couple times and i like the fresh fruit as a dessert at the end. The staff is always so nice when i am in there! And they have a patio for the warmer months and I believe they are byob! ”
“ 2023 has been my year of Kai Sushi. I've only picked up or done delivery but the orders never disappoints. Always fresh, on time and great presentation. My fave go to rolls are the lobster and sweet potato. I definitely would recommend and suggest even looking at all locations. I only recently found out they have varying menus. I definitely would like to dine in soon. ”
“ Just had Kai delivered from Ubereats. I'm treating myself because my lovely wife doesn't like sushi, but she's at work right now. I ordered a spicy tuna, roll, the salmon roll, and the Unagi. They are all of high-quality with great flavor. I think the Unagi is my favorite, it's got a great barbecue finish to it. Will definitely order from here again. ”
“ This lowkey, hidden spot in South Loop surprised me with how delish their sushi is! It can be a challenge to find a fairly priced but yet great tasting sushi in Chicago, but look no further because this place was tasty. I ordered 2 rolls and the miso soup -- the rolls were giving except for the soup. The soup was not flavorful and a bit watery but I'd come back again to try their other rolls/sashimi platters. The staff was friendly and we even got free fruit after our meal! They have patio seating too, which is great for warmer days. ”
